Jennie Sumner

Jennie Sumner has been promoted to Vice President of Human Resources at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla.

In her new role, Sumner will be responsible for the overall direction of recruitment, training, benefits and employee relations.

“With more than 15 years of experience in human resources, employee relations and diversity training, Jennie is well positioned to direct the outstanding efforts of our human resources team,” said Michael Volkert, President of Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood.

Sumner joined Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood in 2010 as a Training Manager and subsequently earned a promotion to Director of Guest Service & Training. She was instrumental in developing strong relationships with the property’s operational departments and executing its refreshed Guest Service Initiative, including the Accountability Management Workshop.

Before landing in Hollywood, Fla., Sumner was the Leadership Program Manager for MGM Mirage University in Las Vegas. Her many duties included assisting in the research, coordination, development, facilitation and evaluation of the university’s management programs such as its upward mobility programs, leadership development, management training modules and diversity.

Prior to the gaming industry, Sumner spent more than six years with Nautilus Pools in Port Charlotte, Fla. where she began her career in Human Resources, ultimately progressing to Human Resources Manager.

Sumner holds a bachelor’s degree in business management/human resources from the University of Phoenix in Las Vegas.
