HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (January 29, 2015) – Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino’s Meatopia: The Q Revolution presented by Creekstone Farms hosted by Guy Fieri curated by Josh Ozersky at the 2015 Food Network & Cooking Channel South Beach Wine & Food Festival presented by FOOD & WINE will take place on Saturday, February 21 beachside at Delano from 7 – 10 p.m. Grammy Award-winning band Blues Traveler will headline, setting the tone for the Festival’s iconic event for all things grilled, braised and barbecued.
A band that has learned to be ever-changing, while sticking to the roots of who they are, in 2014, Blues Traveler celebrated the 20th anniversary of their Grammy and will perform classic hits and new songs from their new and dramatically different album scheduled for release in 2015. Blues Traveler achieved international success with their mid-90’s Billboard top ten breakthrough hit, “Run-Around,” and has entertained more than 30 million fans around the world with an average touring pace of 250 shows per year. The band, composed of John Popper (vocals, harmonica), Chan Kinchla (guitars), Tad Kinchla (bass), Ben Wilson (keyboards) and Brendan Hill (drums, percussion), is recognized for their harmonica laced sound with a hybrid vibe that draws from blues-rock, psychedelic rock, folk rock, soul and Southern Rock. Blues Traveler will take the stage for a 90-minute set.
As title sponsor of the Food Network & Cooking Channel South Beach Wine & Food Festival’s most anticipated event, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino will transform the Meatopia: The Q Revolution venue to reflect the fun, irreverent personality of Hard Rock and socially vibrant ambiance of Kuro. Kuro is the new-style Japanese craft kitchen led by Executive Chef Alex Becker that will open at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla. in March 2015. Attendees of Meatopia: The Q Revolution will have a first taste of Kuro’s handcrafted nigiri and signature cocktails at the pop-up Kuro Lounge. In addition to Meatopia: The Q Revolution, Kuro will also be serving a sampling of its artisanal creations at Italian Al Fresco Feast on the Beach hosted by Debi Mazar & Gabriele Corcos presented by Ronzoni sponsored by MIAMI magazine on Thursday, February 19 and Best of The Munchies: People’s Choice Food Awards hosted by Andrew Zimmern on Sunday, February 22.
Meatopia has been called “a meat-lover’s paradise” by New York Magazine and a “bacchanal of pork, beef, lamb, chicken, duck, turkey, and quail” by The New York Times. Attendees can fulfill their most carnivorous desires as more than 30 chefs celebrate the whole animal with their all-wood-fired custom dishes that are created just for this event.
