Located at the AAA Four-Diamond-rated Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Kuro is the critically acclaimed new-style Japanese restaurant that made its South Florida debut earlier this year. With the New Year on the horizon, Kuro will be kicking off 2016 with two new offerings – Saturday lunch service and extended dinner hours.
Beginning on Saturday, Jan. 2, the restaurant will offer Saturday lunch service from noon to 3 p.m. For the lunch menu, Executive Chef Alex Q. Becker has crafted an array of fare sure to draw Kuro regulars, as well as the uninitiated. Noodle selections include Kuro Ramen ($16) with char siu pork belly, scallions, egg, nori and pork broth; Miso Ramen ($16) with char siu pork belly, scallions, egg, marinated hijiki and pork and chicken broth; Hot Soba ($15) with mushrooms, scallions and dashi broth; and Cold Soba ($14) with nori, wasabi and dashi broth. Guests can opt to add mixed tempura to soba dishes for an additional $5. Rice donburi is a traditional rice bowl consisting of meat and vegetables simmered together and served over rice in a large rice bowl. Donburi options include Chicken ($15) with egg, sweet onion and mitsuba; Beef ($16) with sliced ribeye, runny egg, scallions and pickled ginger; Tempura ($15) with shrimp, seasonal vegetables and tempura sauce; and Cold Sashimi ($19) with tuna, hamachi, whitefish, ikura, salmon, tamago and avocado. All donburi dishes are served with a bowl of miso soup.
