Hollywood, Fla. (Dec. 13, 2016) – Blackbird Presents is proud to announce the addition of Bob Margolin, Dave Malone, Ivan Neville and Mark Mullins to the first leg of “The Last Waltz 40 Tour: A Celebration of the 40th Anniversary of The Last Waltz” kicking off at Hard Rock Live at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla. on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017 at 8 p.m. Tickets are on sale now.

Bob Margolin was Muddy Waters’ longtime music director, partner and guitarist. He accompanied Muddy Waters during the original Last Waltz performance in 1976.

Dave Malone was the lead singer and guitarist for the legendary New Orleans band, The Radiators. Ivan Neville is a member of the first family of music royalty of New Orleans and leader of funk and jam band group, Dumpstaphunk. Mark Mullins and Levee Horns are known for their razor sharp New Orleans horn sound and have shared the stage with Bruce Springsteen, R.E.M., Arcade Fire, and many more.

Trombonist Mark Mullins has become one of the most in-demand horn arrangers of New Orleans today.

All four artists took part in Blackbird Presents’ “A Celebration of the 40th Anniversary of The Last Waltz” in New Orleans last April.

In addition to the newly announced performers, the first leg of the national tour will feature previously announced artists, which include Warren Haynes, Michael McDonald, Jamey Johnson, John Medeski, Don Was and Terence Higgins.

“The Last Waltz 40 Tour: A Celebration of the 40th Anniversary of The Last Waltz” captures the excitement from Blackbird Present’s two-night, sold-out concert event “Last Waltz New Orleans: A Celebration of the 40th Anniversary of The Last Waltz,” which took place during Jazz Fest 2016 at the historic Saenger Theatre. Heralded as one of New Orleans’ best events during Jazz Fest, the epic event paid tribute to the band’s milestone final concert with unprecedented performances and an extraordinary lineup of artists. “The last 30 minutes of The Last Waltz @SaengerNOLA was best thing I’ve heard @jazzfest,” said Keith Spera, music critic, The New Orleans Advocate.

Now “The Last Waltz 40 Tour: A Celebration of the 40th Anniversary of The Last Waltz” will showcase a number of these artists across multiple US cities celebrating the 40th anniversary of The Last Waltz.

“I’ll never forget the experience of playing these songs with this group of musicians in New Orleans earlier this year. We are celebrating something truly special and I’m honored to be a part of it,” said Michael McDonald.

“The Last Waltz is a true piece of rock ‘n’ roll history. The music is as soulful, relevant and powerful today as it was 40 years ago. We can’t wait to carry on the legacy of these songs for fans,” said Warren Haynes.

Creator and executive producer Keith Wortman and Blackbird Presents have once again gathered a truly prodigious cast of musicians led by musical director Grammy award-winning guitar legend and vocalist Warren Haynes (Gov’t Mule, The Allman Brothers Band, The Dead) and Grammy award-winning producer/musician Don Was with Grammy award-winning singer/songwriter Michael McDonald, ACM Award-winning singer/songwriter Jamey Johnson, keyboard master John Medeski, and legendary funk drummer Terence Higgins (Dirty Dozen Brass Band), along with the original horn arrangements of Allen Toussaint. In addition to the stellar lineup, “The Last Waltz 40 Tour: A Celebration of the 40th Anniversary of The Last Waltz” will surprise fans with some very special guests at numerous stops throughout the tour.

Tickets cost $190, $90, $80 and $60.* All seats are reserved and available at all Ticketmaster outlets online at www.myhrl.com, www.ticketmaster.com or charge by phone: 1-800-745-3000. Doors open one hour prior to show start time. *Additional fees may apply.
