Hollywood, Fla. (Oct. 3, 2016) –The Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida’s highly anticipated holiday concert comes to Hard Rock Live at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Sunday, Dec. 11, at 8 p.m. “Holidays at the Hard Rock!”, an evening of upbeat and memorable holiday music, will feature the Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida joined by acclaimed singing artist Linda Eder. Tickets are on sale now.
“Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino is committed to supporting the LGBT community and value our strong and growing relationships,” said Susan Renneisen, vice president of community affairs and special events at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. “We are enthusiastic about welcoming the talented men of the Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida and Ms. Eder to our venue.”
Linda Eder achieved broad acclaim for her starring role in Broadway’s “Jekyll & Hyde.” She moved on to an amazing solo career and has released a total of 15 solo albums. The concert stage remains the mainstay of Eder’s career. She has performed for sold-out crowds in venues across the country and throughout Europe.
The 2016-2017 season marks the Chorus’s seventh season. September auditions resulted in 16 new members added to the Chorus, which is now the largest gay men’s chorus in the southeastern United States. The holiday concert is under the baton of newly appointed artistic director and conductor Harold Dioquino who impressively lead the Chorus as interim director in the 2015-2016 season.
“The holidays are about people of all faiths and cultures coming together as one community and celebrating our greater good,” commented Dioquino. “Linda Eder’s amazing voice, combined with the Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida is a truly magical blend of sound and emotion people will love.”
The Chorus has engaged New York based theatre and concert director Joey Murray (“Jenny Wiley Theatre,” “The Broadway Dolls,” “New York Musical Theatre Festival”) to work with the Chorus’s artistic team to conceptualize and stage the holiday event. Murray brings to the Chorus years of professional experience as a stage and music video director, including his current projects: directing the musical “Cabaret” for the Pentangle Arts Center and directing the current touring production of “Polka Dots: The Musical,” which will play New York this fall.
The concert with Linda Eder will be a one night only event, however, the Chorus will be performing many selections at Sunshine Cathedral on Friday, Dec. 16. Information and tickets for both concerts may be obtained by visiting www.gmcsf.org .
