Kuro at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Introduces New Culinary Team Members and Menu Additions
Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino’s critically acclaimed new-style Japanese restaurant Kuro has never been short on buzz. The restaurant has received numerous accolades since it opened in 2015 and is still recognized as one of the region’s standout culinary destinations. This summer, guests will have new reason to experience Kuro with a selection of menu additions courtesy of its new powerhouse culinary team members – Executive Sushi Chef Tomohiro Inoue and Pastry Chef Michael Galindo. Overseen by Creative Culinary Director Alex Q. Becker, the duo are putting their own unique touches to Kuro’s varied menu.
As Kuro’s new Executive Sushi Chef, Tomohiro Inoue emphasizes authenticity, creating dishes that showcase both his experience and inventive style founded on precision and unwavering attention to detail. Chef Inoue’s techniques are reflected in his creative additions to the Kuro menu. These include two Chilled options: Bronzini Sashimi with myoga, ume and kombu gel; and Toro Tartar with vegetable crudité, nori tsukudani and lime soy. New Kuro Nigiri selections include Seared Scallop with red yuzu kosho; Madai with tsukudani nori and kombu; King Crab with yuzu miso and kizami yuzu; Otoro with momiji oroshi and ponzu; and Wagyu with sukiyaki onion and shichimi. Prior to joining Kuro, Chef Inoue held Executive Sushi Chef positions at esteemed Miami restaurants including Makoto and SushiSamba.
With its innovative selection, Kuro’s dessert menu is hard to pass up. Newly appointed Pastry Chef Michael Galindo trained under the resort’s Executive Pastry Chef Ross Evans, who was responsible for developing Kuro’s inaugural dessert menu. Chef Galindo’s latest additions include White Sesame Mochi with coconut crémeux, guava gel and mango tuile; Coffee-Chocolate Mousse with peanut butter cream, passionfruit curd and peanut crunch; and Mochi Cake with strawberries, sesame crumble topped with sakura ice cream. A seasonal update to a dessert staple, the Kakigori Shaved Ice now highlights mandarin gel, cardamom ice cream and matcha foam. Prior to joining Kuro, Chef Galindo enjoyed high-profile pastry positions throughout the region including stints at the award-winning Juvia, Tom Colicchio’s Beachcraft, Morimoto and Yardbird Southern Kitchen.
Kuro is located at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino at One Seminole Way in Hollywood, Florida.
